Photoshop Brushshop FAQ

Hey chicks! I've received a few questions about the Brushshop and I'd like to follow up with your questions. If you've sent me an email or holla-ed, you should have received an email from me too. Let's get to it!

Q. Hi Tiff, I took a class with you at CPR and would love to take this class too...but, I've never taken a class like this before, and I'm curious about the specifics of how it works. Is there a specific time that you have to be available to logon, or can you watch the videos at your own convenience? Additionally, about how much time do you suggest having available in order to get the most out of the class?

and ...

Q. Do the classes take place at a specific time, do I need to be in front of my computer at &:00 p.m. on Monday nights? Or is it something we download and make sure to watch/do before the next lesson?

A. The classes are video lessons and you can watch them at your leisure. It's a good idea to watch the first week's lessons before the second one etc. because the techniques build with each video lesson. But there is no specific time to "meet" which allows you to catch up when it fits your schedule. I will host weekend chats to answer students questions and have some fun. But the chats aren't mandatory.

I would set aside about two hours per week to watch the videos and add some extra time to practice with the brushes I'll provide. But here's the AWESOME part. You will receive lifetime access to the videos and course materials! So, you can always come back and jump right in where you left off if there's a time crunch at some point. It's designed to give you creative freedom!

Q. Will I be able to use the brushes included in my commercial work?

A. The designers have given us permission to use their kit items and brushes for personal use only and have included that license in each download.

Q. I work on a Mac. I have Elements 6 and just bought CS4 but haven't installed it yet. Will the brushes work in both programs or do I need to choose one? If I load the brushes in Elements, and later want to use them in CS4, is that possible? Or can you only load them in one or the other?

A. Absolutely, the brush files will work in both CS4 or 6.0 simultaneously. If you want to load a brush file in Elements and want to use the same brush file in Photoshop, you can! Matter of fact, I usually have both Elements and Photoshop open at the same time with the same brushes loaded. Works just fine!

Got a question or what more details? Holla at me! Looking forward to hearing from you! And thank you to all who've contacted me about the class! Looking forward to meeting you!

I took Renee Pearson's Intro class and it was really easy. If you can't make a "live" chat, it is archived for you to view later. I am looking forward to this class as a way of adding to my PSE skills.
