My holiday class is open for registration! Yeah, baby! Yeah - Austin Powers style. Let me introduce you to the 25 Days of Templates.

The Inspiration

This class was inspired by an article I wrote for the December 2008 issue of Creating Keepsakes. In that issue, I described an annual problem I had around the holidays. Scrapbook? Nope. Homemade gifts? Don't think so. Scrapbooking just took a back seat; a victim to the holiday shuffle.

The year of the article, I created a plethora of home-made gifts using hybrid templates. Now, it's time to mix it up! With a simple holiday scrapbook plan, I'll document at least one daily moment or event each day leading up to Christmas. It's my own creative journey, which is also a holiday spiritual journey for me. By day 25, my holiday album will be full of layouts detailing our best and not so best holiday moments.

The Details

25 elegant and simple digital templates to capture the moments of the season. And you can use them too! Not only that, the class will feature 25 holiday-inspired photography, design, and page topic techniques to keep you engaged and energized. The techniques will be delivered to you via a daily video message separated for Photoshop and Photoshop Elements users. There's a colorful, written PDF companion guide to print and follow along.

What if you're traveling, or you know the hub-bub of the season would make a class a little tough?
Our students at reneepearson.com have access to their registered class information, products, videos, and downloads for a lifetime! Register now. When the class starts, you'll have access to my holiday plan which you can customize for the photos and ideas you want for your album.

With that in mind, spend the holidays enjoying them! Get those photos, jot down your thoughts. Relax knowing you have a plan! Also, take a peek at the videos and messages as time allows. You'll get some great tips to use during the holidays for topics and photography. Then catch up in January, watch a video a day, and use the templates for easy peesy rice and cheesy quick album scrapbooking!

This process gives you the freedom to determine when your 25 days starts!

Templates.

Classic. Timeless. Elegant. Thoughtful. Coordinated. Each day, I will feature in our class gallery a completed layout and interpretation of the daily template. You have the option to work the template as you like or let the interpretation inspire your final layout.

The 25 includes a few single photo, many multi photo, full bleed, and technique infused designs. A bonus cover, back, and spine completes the look for storybook printing.

Supplies.

One of my favorite designers, THE Liz of Paislee Press, created an amazing and very EXCLUSIVE holiday kit for our class! Here is beautiful, sophisticated Adorned.

It has a beautiful subdued color palette and those extra accents that compliment but not overpower holiday photos. Perfection. I am choosing to create my album using this kit. Keeping it simple! Probably will add a few of my own extra goodies ... you'll get those too!

What if you'd like to use your own holiday stash?
That's cool! Use what works for you. You'll get Liz's kit but your album really needs to speak to you. I am a firm believer in ultimate freedom! And fast scrapbooking.

Skill Level.

This is the perfect class for beginners because we have to talk about using layers and becoming familiar with the workspace for you to use the templates effectively. But don't fear my fellow intermediate and advanced template-teers! My holiday plan includes techniques that I'm sure you'll enjoy too.

Etcetera.

During the next week, I'll share some amazing page layouts from my template creative team and invited guests to show off what they can do with the kit, the templates, and the inspiration. And next Monday, November 9th, 2009, I'll give away a seat to my class as well as a gift certificate to Shutterfly to have your album printed.

There'll be a few more giveaways in the upcoming two weeks around the world wide web.

Questions? Post a comment here or email me. Peek at the class curriculum and details for the 25 Days of Templates. I'll be back to answer any questions too. Connect with me on Facebook to keep up with the giveaways. The Cowboys are doing well; the Redskins stink. All is right with the world. But something, and I'm venting here, is irking my nerves:

Yes. It is okay that I, a woman, am obsessed with football. No. It is not OK if you, man, test my obsession by questioning how well I know a team/player's stats!

My fanatisicm is not dictated by how much crap I know about a 5th round draft pick from Alabama. What does the secondary players on the Cowboy's team have to do with my life right now? And I don't give a rats-ass who's on the injured roster on any given Sunday ... unless it's the quarterback, of course. For real ... just play the game!

What I DO care about is yelling at the television every Sunday evening and Monday night. Screaming at people who can't hear me is a favorite pass time. I admit it! Plus, there's a simple satisfaction in knowing that I'm part of the team; a cheerleader. I would look hella fine in a Cowboys cheerleader uniform, though I can't dance to save my life.

And all excuses aside: a man in tight pants with a nice butt sweating it out for more than an hour makes me happy. Very, very happy. Multiply that by 22 and I am in an unquantifiable state of bliss come Sunday night.

Where does that leave us, dear dude? I'm not in your favorite recliner, drinking your beer, and mouthing off why shotgun is better than draw. I'm enjoying the game ... so let me! And be thankful your wife and I aren't trying to over talk the game with scrapbooking stats. THAT is something you DON'T want to hear!

How could you forget to share more layouts? I mean, isn't that what you do? Tiffany

Yes! Kind of weird to forget that!

Here's my rockin' favorite from the Keeping It Real class at the DSE. This layout is so technique heavy! I absolutely enjoyed sharing these tricks and will probably release them shortly to ere'one.

And just because I can't say yes all my life: it's cute when the pep squad, the local high school basketball team, the girl scouts, the fire men (especially the fire men), and any and all stand on the corner flagging me down to have my car washed in the summer. Thanks.

No! It is not cool to do that in the middle of the fall. Please stop doing that. I ain't gonna get my car cleaned; mother nature does it for me. That is all.

Whoooo. That's right. Whooo. The past month has been a whirlwind for me. A beautiful, banging, blessed twirly-whirly ride of an adventure through the DSE, online classes, and yadda-yadda.

Soooo ... before I get back into the swing of things, I just gotta show off two layouts I used for my Brushes classes.

The Brushshop was really an amazing experience. Loved cyber-meeting all the students, answering questions, chatting. But it was certainly good times. And I can't wait to do it again!

Is there a specific time that you have to be available to logon, or can you watch the videos at your own convenience? Additionally, about how much time do you suggest having available in order to get the most out of the class?

and ...

Q. Do the classes take place at a specific time, do I need to be in front of my computer at &:00 p.m. on Monday nights? Or is it something we download and make sure to watch/do before the next lesson?

A. The classes are video lessons and you can watch them at your leisure. It's a good idea to watch the first week's lessons before the second one etc. because the techniques build with each video lesson. But there is no specific time to "meet" which allows you to catch up when it fits your schedule. I will host weekend chats to answer students questions and have some fun. But the chats aren't mandatory.

I would set aside about two hours per week to watch the videos and add some extra time to practice with the brushes I'll provide. But here's the AWESOME part. You will receive lifetime access to the videos and course materials! So, you can always come back and jump right in where you left off if there's a time crunch at some point. It's designed to give you creative freedom!

Q. Will I be able to use the brushes included in my commercial work?

A. The designers have given us permission to use their kit items and brushes for personal use only and have included that license in each download.

Q. I work on a Mac. I have Elements 6 and just bought CS4 but haven't installed it yet. Will the brushes work in both programs or do I need to choose one? If I load the brushes in Elements, and later want to use them in CS4, is that possible? Or can you only load them in one or the other?

A. Absolutely, the brush files will work in both CS4 or 6.0 simultaneously. If you want to load a brush file in Elements and want to use the same brush file in Photoshop, you can! Matter of fact, I usually have both Elements and Photoshop open at the same time with the same brushes loaded. Works just fine!

***

Got a question or what more details? Holla at me! Looking forward to hearing from you! And thank you to all who've contacted me about the class! Looking forward to meeting you!

Dude! My first online workshop, The Photoshop Brushshop, is open for registration at ReneePearson.com. Whoa, where did that come from? I know, I know. It "seems" new but it's been in the works for a few months. And it's become my passion!

The pre-registration price for the three-week workshop is $30 and with that you'll receive video lessons, PDF cheat sheets, 3 beautiful digital kits by TaylorMade from Oscraps, KStudio from After Five Designs, and Gina Marie Huff from Weeds & Wildflower Designs. You'll also receive lots of brushes! I mean ... lots from the above designers and my fellow Little Dreamer Designers Michelle Coleman and Michelle Filo. Take a peek at the whole enchilada if you like!

This class has become so near to my heart because it's not just about a tool in Photoshop. I mean, let's be honest. I have a background in Fine Arts for a reason! This class is really the artistry, inspiration, and creativity of using brushes. We'll begin with the foundations of technique but we'll also take a journey through color, balance, symmetry. In Week 3, we'll even step outside of the tool -- for a few lessons -- and I'll share with you my techniques of painting on canvas and scanning brushes into a photo-editor.

This workshop is designed to help you feel at ease with brushes and to discover new and creative ways to incorporate them into your digital projects. And it doesn't matter if you're using Adobe Photoshop CS3, CS4 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0, 7.0 or Mac vs. PC. I've structured the lessons to work for everyone!

If you have specific questions about the class, feel free to post them up here! Hope you'll check them out and catch up with the other classes Renee is offering in the Fall too. Renee is such an awesome lady - you'll definitely want to hang around for some upcoming announcements beginning in September!

Hope you'll join me on this creative journey peeps!

Playdates, skating, water parks, ice cream, hikes up the mountain, walks to the park, over night sleepovers, birthday parties ... summer vacation is a vacation for whom? Either way, it's time to share some of our favorite photos from the summer.

Let's not also forget that if you do visit the water park, you shouldn't let your pride get the best of you and ignore the fact that you can't swim. And I'm not talking about my little one. I'm talking about me! Because I almost drowned like a big dawg!

Can you believe I deleted, accidently, about 200 photos of a really fun playdate? Poop! They were the best shots from the summer too!

I love, love, love the fact that my Dad is retired and wants to hang out all the time. Poor guy! Why he felt the need to put the Cowboy hat on top of the astronaut helmet is beyond me.
